General Requirements Each contestant must: 1.) Be of African-American descent. 2.) Be a high school enrolled in grades in grades 9-12 3.) Be a citizen or legal resident of the United States. 4.) Be an individual who has demonstrated a genuine interest in one of the 25 categories. 5.) Submit a seperate project, one contestant per categories, per city (a contestant may enter up to three (3) categories). 6.) Be of amateur status having never performed as a paid professional in any categories of competition. 7.) Confirm to the guideline requirements as dictated by category. 8.) All local contestants must submit to their local NAACP ACT-SO program: a) a final application b) a 1 or 2 page double spaced typed biography 9.) All national contestants must submit to their local NAACP ACT-SO Sponsors: a) a national application b) a 1 or 2 page double paced typed biography c) a parent's consent form d) a medical release form signed by a parent e) a small clear photo |
